A strong survivor round combines progress and escape options. Searching every object while ignoring the Locust loses the round; hiding forever avoids one chase but does not answer the game’s escape premise. Use a repeatable cycle: orient, search, report, reroute, and recover.
Opening: orient before you split
Read the role message and objective area first. From spawn, find a central landmark and two connected exits. Move far enough to understand which route returns to the landmark and which route ends. That distinction matters when the monster arrives and you have only a moment to choose.
In a group, split into nearby branches rather than scattering across the entire map. Share the first objective or key landmark you find. Roblox identifies the experience as 1 vs All, but current round size and survivor count can vary; use the players actually present rather than a fixed formation.
Search keys and routes efficiently
Current game-specific coverage reports collectible keys, but fixed spawn locations and the complete door order are not first-party confirmed. Scan visible surfaces, side rooms, lower levels, and route edges without repeatedly checking the same branch. When the UI reacts, record the key label, pickup landmark, and new prompt.
Use a simple team rule: the key carrier moves toward likely doors while unburdened players check adjacent branches and watch the threat. If the key does not match, report the result and move on. The Key Locations guide explains how to turn changing spawns into a reliable search pattern.
Manage the Locust’s attention
Watch where the monster is going, not only where it appeared. If it commits to another survivor, search a route on the opposite side instead of joining the chase. If it turns toward you, call the landmark and move away from the active objective. This separates the threat from the team’s progress.
Do not assume the Locust follows ordinary Murder Mystery 2 movement or hit rules. It is a different, player-controlled monster with its own current abilities. Keep more space until you have seen its range and action cues in your server.
Break line of sight correctly
Choose a corner that leads to another decision. Turn around solid geometry, take the branch the monster cannot see immediately, and continue past the first hiding option. If the route changes elevation, use the stair or lower path to make prediction harder. Avoid a dead-end room unless you have a confirmed hiding interaction or defensive item.
After sight is broken, decide whether to hide, regroup, or resume the objective. Hiding works best when the Locust did not see the entry. Regrouping works when a teammate can point you toward an open route. Returning to the objective works when the threat continued elsewhere.
Use survivor equipment with a purpose
Public coverage shows a taser-like item, while the official description promises future equipment powers. Exact range, charges, cooldown, and effect duration are not confirmed. Inspect the live item card. Select the tool before the chase becomes critical and use it only when the result opens a route.
After activation, move. A stun or interruption is not a win by itself. Turn a corner, gain another level, reach teammates, or finish a nearby interaction. If the tool misses, do not stand still trying to understand why; take the safest route and diagnose the failure after the chase.
Communicate without causing a crowd
Call landmarks and direction: “Locust leaving upper stairs” or “key at lower side room.” Do not ask every survivor to meet at the key. One carrier and one support player are usually easier to protect than a crowd blocking the same doorway. Other players can continue searching or keep a second route open.
If chat is slow, use movement carefully. Leading teammates toward a door can help, but jumping or spinning beside an object is ambiguous. Wait for the current interaction to register and then move with purpose.
Elimination and revive
A revive option is Community reported for the current build. Read its cost and effect in the live prompt. Ask whether the round is still winnable, what progress remains, and where you will return. Revive when it creates a real second attempt; decline when the match is ending or the return state is unsafe.
If the prompt fails or the character returns stuck, record the visible state before rejoining. PRE-ALPHA bugs should be reported as conditions, not treated as normal rules.
Survivor mistakes and recovery
Searching with no exit
Back out and learn the room's only door before checking every surface.
Hiding while watched
Continue to a second sight break before choosing a hiding place.
Crowding the key
Let one player collect while others protect routes and search elsewhere.
Wasting equipment
Use the item to create movement, not merely because the icon is ready.
End-of-round review
Remember one productive search route, one dangerous dead end, one sight break that worked, and one current UI detail. That four-part review makes the next round immediately better even if key spawns change. Continue with How to Escape for objective sequencing and Hiding Spots for route-based concealment.
Confidence
The escape premise and PRE-ALPHA status are Official. Keys, taser, hiding interactions, and revive behavior are Community reported and must be checked in the current build before relying on a value or fixed route.
